*** Activities for the Week of June 25 – June 30 ***

Monday, June 25 – “Reader’s Theater” Rehearsal – 10:30 – Grades 3rd – 6th – ( TEENS )- Sheet Music Art – 3:00 – Grades 7th – 12th.

Tuesday, June 26 – Lunch at “Rock & Read” Park – 12:00 – All Ages – Bring a sack lunch and listen to stories – “I’ve Got the Rhythm” – 3:00 – All Ages – Featuring musical crafts.

Wednesday, June 27 – “Musical Mentors” – Guest speaker(s) from Aliens and Strangers Music will present information and or demonstration of selected instruments – 10:00 – All Ages – “Toddler Toe – Tappers” – 11:15 – Ages 2 – 3 – Featuring story and related fingerplays/songs.

Thursday, June 28 – “Musical Masterpieces” with musical paintbrushes – 10:30 – Grades 4th – 6th – (Registration for this session requested) – Featuring watercolor painting set to music on a rotating schedule.  For example, will start painting and when music stops move on to another painting started by someone else – “Reader’s Theater” – 3:00 – Grades 3rd – 6th – (Presentation will be on July 10 during Lunch at “Rock & Read” Park.)

“LIBRARIES ROCK”

The summer reading program begins-Thursday, May 31 with a dance party at the library from 6:00 – 8:00.  You may also register for the reading program beginning 5:30.  Hope to see you there!

Monday, June 11 – TEEN PROGRAMMING – Grade 7 – 12 – 3:00 – “Disc Art”

Tuesday, June 12 – “Lunch at Rock & Read Park” – All ages – 12:00 – Bring a sack lunch and listen to stories – “I’ve Got the Rhythm” – All ages – 3:00 – Featuring musical crafts

Wednesday, June 13 – The “Toddler Toe-Tappers” – Ages 2 & 3 – 10:30 – Featuring story and related fingerplays/songs – “Composer Corner” – Grades 3 – 6 – 3:00 – Participants compose their own songs by changing the lyrics of a familiar song – called a “piggyback” composition

Thursday, June 14 – “Let’s Make Some Noise” – Age 3 – 1st Grade – 2 Sessions – 10:00 & 11:15 – Featuring story, song, and or related craft – (Sign-up requested for “Let’s Make Some Noise program) – “Reader’s Theater” – Grades 3 – 6 – 3:00 – (Presentation will be on June 26 during “Lunch at Rock & Read Park”)

The Sidney Public Library will again be offering, “Together is Fun” program for youth kindergarten – 6th grade Tuesday, April 25 beginning at 4:00.   This program features seasonal crafts or games.  For more information, please call the library at 254-3110 or stop by for a visit.

The Jr. Friends of the Library will be meeting Tuesday, April 4 at the Sidney Public Library beginning at 5:00.  This group welcomes youth 7th through 12th grades with an emphasis on community service.  For more information, please call the library at 254-3110 or attend our next meeting.
