Together is Fun resumes Tuesday, January 10 at 4:00 for youth kindergarten through 6th grade. This program promotes creativity and the use of imagination through crafts and or games. (Together is Fun is held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.) Bring your friends for a fun time of fellowship and laughter!
Toddler Tales and Storytime resume Wednesday, January 11. Toddler Tales will begin at 10:00 for children ages 2 -3 and will feature story, related fingerplays, and a take-home activity. Due to the weather, our Merry Grinch-mas event has been rescheduled to Wednesday, December 21 at 10:00 am-12:00 pm.
Wishing You a “Merry Grinch-mas” at the Sidney Public Library! Program activities are related to the story, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Youth preschool through 6th grade are welcomed anytime from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Wednesday, December 21. Come enjoy a time of fun and fellowship! Hope to see you there for some “Grinchy” cheer!
MONDAY, JULY 11 – “Submarine Science” – 10:30 – TEENS – Participants use water bottles and straws to demonstrate submarine science. Experiment with salt water as compared to fresh water, buoyancy, etc.
TUESDAY, JULY 12 – Lunch at “Sea Splash Park” – 12:00 – All Ages – Bring a sack lunch and listen to stories.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 13 – “Sea Stars” – 10:30 – Ages 2 & 3 – Program themed story with related fingerplays. “Pirates – Argh!” – 2:00 – All Ages – Come dressed as a pirate – games and or crafts – such as walk the plank game.
THURSDAY, JULY 14 – “Treasure Hunters” – 10:30 – All Ages – Activities may include digging for buried treasure, jewel of the sea craft, etc.
SATURDAY, JULY 16 – ALL READING FOLDERS MUST BE IN BY CLOSING TIME – (5:00) TO QUALIFY FOR PRIZES.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 6 – “Sea Stars” – 10:30 – Ages 2 and 3 – Program themed story with related fingerplays. “SHARK SHIVERS” – 2:00 – ALL AGES – Shark facts, game and or craft activity.
THURSDAY, JULY 7 – “Creepy Creatures of the Deep” – – 10:30 – ALL AGES – Discover amazing facts about creatures that live in the very deep of the ocean.
The Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program will begin Wednesday, June 1. (Program runs though July 16.) Youth age 2 through 12th grade are invited to begin their expedition by registering that day. However, you may register any time during the month of June, if you can not attend that day. An adult program will also begin June 1. In addition, extra activities will be offered throughout the duration of the reading program that registrants may participate in if they choose.

SATURDAY, JUNE 4 – “Oceans of Possibilities” Fun Day – 10:00 – 12:00 – All Ages – Enjoy games, snacks, and sign up for the reading program.
MONDAY, JUNE 13 – Craft – “Mermaid Sugar Scrub and Mermaid Jewel” – 10:30 – TEENS – 7th – 12th grade – Make your own natural body scrub and crystal seashell.
TUESDAY, JUNE 14 – Lunch at “Sea Splash Park” – 12:00 – All Ages – Bring a sack lunch and listen to stories.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15 – “Sea Stars” – 10:30 – Ages 2 & 3 – Program themed story with related fingerplays. — “The Motion of the Ocean” – 2:00 – All Ages – Learn the ocean names and learn about ocean zones, currents, etc.
THURSDAY, JUNE 16 – “Fin-tastic Fish” – 10:30 – All Ages – Learn “fishy facts” and create your own fish.
MONDAY, JUNE 20 – “Survival Island” – Can you survive on a deserted island? 10:30 – TEENS – 7th – 12th grade – Participants will visit different stations. Stations may include make your own water filter, build a raft, build a shelter, etc.
TUESDAY, JUNE 21 – Lunch at “Sea Splash Park” – 12:00 – All Ages – Bring a sack lunch and listen to stories.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22 – “Sea Stars” – 10:30 – Ages 2 & 3 – Program themed story with related fingerplays. — “Marine Mammals” – 2:00 – All Ages – Discover fun facts about whales, dolphins, etc. Craft activity.
THURSDAY, JUNE 23 – “Marine Reptiles” – 10:30 – All Ages – Learn about sea turtles, sea snakes, etc. Craft activity.
FRIDAY, JUNE 24 – ” Keith West: Magician” – Ocean of Possibilities Program – 4:00 – All Ages – West Elementary.
MONDAY, JUNE 27 – Craft – “Ocean Tissue Paper Watercolor” – 10:30 – TEENS – 7th – 12th grade – Participants use pieces of colored tissue paper to in essence paint with. After the “paint” dries, participants use black paper to make an ocean silhouette to place over the watercolor.
TUESDAY, JUNE 28 – Lunch at “Sea Splash Park” – 12:00 – All Ages – Bring a sack lunch and listen to stories.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29 – “Sea Stars” – 10:30 – Ages 2 & 3 – Program themed story with related fingerplays. — “Marine Mammals” – 2:00 – All Ages – Discover fun facts about seals, otters, sea lions, etc. Craft activity.
THURSDAY, JUNE 30 – “Theatre West” Performers Group – 10:30 – All Ages – Outside library weather permitting. — “Beach Bum” Afternoon – 2:00 – All Ages – Craft such as sand art hand print, sandcastles, etc. Dress as you think a beach bum would dress.
A new year is coming and so is a new schedule for storytime. Toddler Tales for ages 2 and 3 will resume Wednesday, January 12 at 10:00, followed by Storytime at 11:00 for children 4 and 5. This will be ongoing throughout the spring session. So come join us for fun and laughter!
Join us for fun and fellowship – (for together is fun) – Tuesday, November 23 at 4:00. Seasonal crafts and or games will be the highlight of this session for kids kindergarten through 6th grade. Hope to see you then!
