Friends Report given by: Larami Bruner- February is Library Lovers month. Our patrons can leave us a “love” note and get a chocolate kiss. So far we have 32 love notes. Patrons will also be entered to receive a prize for checking out a book.

We let the board know that we purchased a portable washing machine for the rags. It was installed and we started using it. It works great. We also let the board know that during the installation a leak in the basement was discovered and repaired.
Approval of Minutes: Steven DeWitt made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 13th 2025 meeting, Marva Ellwanger seconded.

Financial Reports and Bills: Marva Ellwanger made a motion to approve the bills from January 2025, Steven seconded.

Old Business:
Tanya asked if the library staff had made a decision on what time worked best for us for the open mic night done by Keep Sidney Beautiful. We let them know we would prefer it done during business hours. Naomi let them know that she filed the non-profit Biennial report. She also spoke with the financial manager about how to go about amending the IRS fee, and from which budget line, that the board requested be amended. The funds will be paid back to the Foundation from the general fund. The board will be seeing that reflected at the March meeting on February’s budget.

Tanya Lewis asked for a motion to be made for closed session to discuss personnel. Steven motioned, Marva seconded the motion, motion carried at 4:11pm.

Approval of Minutes: Makayla Neuhalfen made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 13th meeting. Steven seconded, all in favor, motion carried.

Old Business: Tanya had an email response from a member of the Thompson Foundation regarding the check we received. He wanted to consult with the other members of the foundation before giving a final answer on what we could do with the check.
