Absent: A motion was made by Shannon to excuse Steve from the July 10 Board meeting. 
               The Motion was seconded by Tanya.

Approval of Minutes:  A motion was made by Jen to approve the minutes of the June 12, 2023 meeting.  The motion was seconded by Shannon.
     APPROVED: ALL

Financial Reports and Bills:  A motion was made by Tanya to approve the bills for June 2023.  The motion was seconded by Shannon. 
     APPROVED: ALL

Old Business:

  • Updated job descriptions were provided to the board.  They will look them over and vote on them in August or September.
  • The grievance procedure along with the grievance form were discussed.

New Business:

  • Flooring Garage will be replacing the restroom floors.  Mid-August for install.
  • Still waiting on quotes for the Heating/AC unit in the children’s area.
  • 10 free showers donated by Loves to provide to any patron, as needed.  City Transit will transport them there and back, if needed.
  • Jeff and Amy Klare donating 4 new laptop computers to the Library.
  • Computer Logs Binder created includes my communications with the tech support and Dave Porter.
  • Julie to the Bookmobile to the Rotary Club event at the North Side Park. 30 people came on and 1 person signed up for a library card, and a couple of teens signed up for the SRP.
  • Julie, Larami and Eileen promoted the Summer Reading Program and the wrap up parties on 98.7 the Big Boy.
  • As of meeting date there are 131 adults signed up for the program, 130 children, and 36 teens. Top reader for the teens has read 42 books.
  • The adult wrap- up party will be held July 20 at 6:00pm.  The wrap-up party for the children will be July 18, 2023 at 12:00p, with the teens wrapping up their program on July 18, 2023 at 3:00pm
  • The StoryWalk at the Legion Park was popular for park-goers.  Lots of positive feedback.
  • Other events that the children participated in were Library field day, making  thank you cards for the Sidney Police Department and 2 blankets were made and donated to CASA.
  • Jen made a motion to close the library on August 1, 2023 so staff may attend the WLS meeting in Bayard.  The motion was seconded by Tanya.
    APPROVED: ALL
  • A motion was made by Tanya to go into closed session for Personnel reasons at 4:37pm. The motion was seconded by Jen.
    APPROVED: ALL
    Reconvened at 5:29pm.
  • A motion was made by Tanya for the Library Staff to participate in mandatory communication training, with additional leadership training for Library Director. Pre-approved closure of Library, as needed, for training.
    APPROVED: ALL
