Board Members Present: Jane Holechek, Jen Ramsey, Tanya Lewis and Shannon Smelley                                              
Also Present: Stephanie Mika, Sandy Nelson, Larami Bruner, Bridget Goding

  • Absent: Sandy White
    A motion was made by Jen to excuse Sandy White from the Board meeting.  The motion was seconded by Tanya.

Meeting called to order at: 4:00 pm.
Friends Report given by:  Bridget

  • September is National Library Card sign up month. Class with the most sign-ups will win a popsicle party.  Members are also taking turns reading to the classes.
  • Friends meeting will be held September 19 at 6:00pm.
  • National Friends of Libraries week will be held October 16-22.  During the month there will be a membership drive and a puzzle tournament on October 16 from 1-5 that will be held at the Cheyenne County Community Center.  A pumpkin decorating contest will also be held. 
  • Bridget explained that donations and grants were used to fund the Imagination Library.

Approval of Minutes:  A motion was made by Tanya to approve the minutes of the August 8, 2022 meeting.  The motion was seconded by Shannon.
     APPROVED: ALL

Financial Reports and Bills:  A motion was made by Jen to approve the Bills for August 2022.  The motion was seconded by Shannon. 
     APPROVED: ALL

Old Business: 

  • A motion to approve all revisions and revisitations to the policies was made by Tanya.  The motion was seconded by Jen.   

APPROVED: ALL

New Business: 

  • Lane Kizzire, City of Sidney Finance Director discussed the budget for the year 22-23.  A motion was made to approve the budget by Shannon. The motion was seconded by Tanya.

APPROVED: All

  • A motion was made by Tanya to approve Staff evaluations and salary increases. The motion was seconded by Shannon.

APPROVED: All

  • Larami reported that she made new bookmarks with the new passwords and new links for the NebraskAccess databases.   

A motion was made by Shannon to go into closed session for Personnel matters at 4:45pm. The motion was seconded by Tanya.

Reconvened at 4:55pm.
