Board Members Present: Sandy White, Jane Holechek, Jen Ramsey, Tanya Lewis and Shannon Smelley                                              
Also Present: Eileen Nightingale, Sandy Nelson, Julie Stokes and Autumn Ramirez

Meeting called to order at: 4:00 pm.

Approval of Minutes:  A motion was made by Sandy to approve the minutes of the July 11, 2022 meeting.  The motion was seconded by Jen.
     APPROVED: ALL

Financial Reports and Bills:  A motion was made by Tanya to approve the Bills for July 2022.  The motion was seconded by Shannon. 
     APPROVED: ALL

Old Business: 

  • Sandy Nelson will look to see if there are any Library Board Bi-laws for removing non-charitable board members. 
  • Policy Review: Sandy White motioned to approve all the policies as revised with changes.  Changes to the FTE classification with changes to give detailed requirements. The motion was seconded by Tanya.
    APPROVED: ALL

New Business: 

  • A motion was made by Jen to hire Amanda Eastin as Library Director.  The motion was seconded by Shannon. 

APPROVED: ALL

  • Jane discussed the webinar on the Open Meetings Act. Some changes will be implemented.
  • Julie reported on the Adult Summer Reading program.  Final totals are, 138 Participants, 578 Books read.  Wrap-up party had 18 people attend.  Prizes were handed out. 
  • Julie has started a program with the Office of Human Development.  They will meet monthly here at the library on the 2nd Friday of the month.  They will play Bingo in August and a Dance Party with Treyvon from the Cheyenne County Community Center will be held in October.
  • Eileen reported her final numbers for the Summer Reading Program. There were 164 sign ups and there were 25 at the wrap-up party.
  • Sandy Nelson reported that the staff is excited that Amanda Eastin accepted the Director position.
  • There will be a 3-day webinar called the United for Libraries Virtual 2022 starting August 9, 10, 11.  This is also for Library Boards.  

A motion was made by Tanya to go into closed session for Personnel matters at 4:45pm. The motion was seconded by Jen.
