Board Members Present: Sandy White, Jane Holechek, Jen Ramsey
                                               and Shannon Smelley 
Also Present: Stephanie Mika, Lane Kizzire, Autumn Ramirez, Bridget Goding, Jenny Gilbert, 
                         Larami Bruner and Sandy Nelson.                                                                                          

    Absent:

Meeting called to order at: 4:00 pm.

Friends Report given by: Bridget

  • National Library card sign up for Kindergartners is underway.  The class with the most signups will win a popsicle party. Members have been reading to the classes.
  • Usborne Fundraiser (cards) is underway
  • The 4th Annual Jigsaw puzzle tournament will be held October 10. 
  • There will be a FOSPL membership drive in October.
  • A pumpkin carving contest will also be held in October

Approval of Minutes:  A motion was made by Jen to approve the minutes of the August 9, 2021 meeting.  The motion was seconded by Sandy.
     APPROVED: ALL

Financial Reports and Bills:  A motion was made by Sandy to approve the Bills for August 2021.  The motion was seconded by Shannon. 
     APPROVED: ALL

Old Business: 

New Business: 

  • A motion was made by Sandy to appoint Stephanie Mika and Sandra Nelson as Interim Directors until a new person is hired. The motion was seconded by Jen.

APPROVED: ALL 

  • A motion was made by Shannon to be open from 1-5 on October 2 so the staff can enjoy the Oktoberfest parade in the morning.  The motion was seconded by Jen.

Approved: ALL
A motion was made by Sandy to close at 4:00pm on October 29 so the staff can all participate in the Citywide Trunk or Treat festivities.  The motion was seconded by Shannon.  Approved: All

  • Lane Kizzire, City Financial Director explained the 21-22 budget.
  • The staff has been working on weeding and re-labeling of books in the Library.  Larami is taking care of making new signage throughout the library.  The garage has been cleaned out and there has been new lighting installed. 

A motion was made by Sandy to go into closed session for Personnel matters at 4:29. The motion was seconded by Shannon.
