The current pandemic of Covid-19 is a health hazard and one that the library takes seriously. Therefore, the library has taken steps to slow the spread of the virus while keeping as many services as possible available to the public. As our understanding of the virus changes the library adapts to provide the safest atmosphere as we can during this pandemic.

Following the Panhandle Public Health District Covid-19 Risk Dial the Library will take the following actions based on the dial color:

Low:

  • Library open with programming.
  • Materials cleaned before recirculating.
  • Computers and seating limited.
  • Computer and areas cleaned after patron use.
  • Smith Room available.
  • Checkout to cart in front of library available.

Moderate:

  • Limited Programming as space allows for distance.
  • Materials cleaned before recirculating.
  • Limited computers, very limited public seating.
  • Computer and areas cleaned after patron use.
  • Smith Room is open by appointment with limited seating.
  • Checkout to cart in front of library available.

High:

  • Public required to wear masks.
  • Programming is Virtual only.
  • Quarantine items and clean them before recirculating.
  • Limited computers, very limited public seating
  • Computer and areas cleaned after patron use.
  • Limit of 25 patrons in the building.
  • Smith Room closed.
  • Bookmobile does not make it regular stops and is not available to the public.
  • Checkout to cart in front of library available.

Severe:

  • Follow High precautions and add additional safety measures as needed.
