“Libraries Rock” Summer Reading Program 2018

***Activities for the Week of June 18 – 23***

Tuesday, June 19 – Lunch at “Rock & Read” Park – 12:00 – All Ages – Bring a sack lunch and listen to stories – “I’ve Got the Rhythm” – 3:00 – All Ages – Featuring musical crafts.
Wednesday, June 20 – “Toddler Toe – Tappers” – 10:30 – Ages 2 – 3 – Featuring story and related fingerplays/songs – “Silly Dance” – 3:00 – All Ages – Music and dance as silly as you like!
Thursday, June 21 – A “Mixed – Up Melody” – 10:30 – Grades 2nd – 3rd – Featuring stories with mixed – up elements, such as a cow who meows etc. – A “Sound” Science – 3:00 – Grades 3rd – 6th – Featuring experiments with sound.

Meeting called to order at: 4:00 pm.

  • The Friends will be having a DJ and have a dance party for the SRP kickoff which will be held May 31.

Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Ami to approve the minutes of the March 12, 2018 meeting.  The motion was seconded by Jane.

Financial Reports and Bills: A motion was made by Libby to approve the bills for the March 2018, meeting.  The motion was seconded by Jane.

New Business:

  • The roof is currently being replaced.
  • The Chautauqua will be held in Sidney June 11-14. Plans include an author visit and a historian group will be presenting programs here at the library.
  • We made bookmarks that will promote the library and the makerspace to be in the “swag bags” to be handed out at the Girls day out to be held April 14.
  • The Library will demonstrate the 3-d printer during the Spring Expo on April 14-15. People will be able to print custom bubble wands and there will be cell phone stands available to the public.

“Libraries Rock” Summer Reading Program 2018

“LIBRARIES ROCK”

The summer reading program begins-Thursday, May 31 with a dance party at the library from 6:00 – 8:00.  You may also register for the reading program beginning 5:30.  Hope to see you there!
